Classes move from beginner level that is playful and creative and then build towards developing a strong vocabulary that incorporates balance, flexibility, strength, control and discipline. Ballet is the basis and touchstone for all other forms of dance.
Classes provide a firm foundation in which students will explore rhythm, make melodies with their feet and challenge their minds with fast paced and expressive choreography.
Storytelling through music which includes singing, dancing and acting. Learning to read music and emote through songs. Learning to dance in character and the various rhythms of individual songs. Various exercises are done weekly with rehearsals toward a show at the end of the session.
One learns the technique and rules necessary in putting on short and long term improvisational scenes and shows. Helps develop the understanding of sharing a stage with other actors and learning to let go of control of a story. Sharpens wit and ability to think on ones feet. Each session will end with a performance.
All of the basics of theater such as inflection, diction, and projection, with the added emphasis on making clear, strong messages, character building exercises, scene study, and monologue work.
